Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Construction Manager to support the construction of water and wastewater facilities in the greater Charlotte, NC area. The role involves coordinating field inspections, reviewing drawings and specs, and managing contractor activities to ensure contract compliance.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of CM experience in heavy civil or environmental trades, with strong communication and client management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 5+ years’ relevant CM experience in heavy civil or environmental trades.
• Experience representing an Owner or Engineer in water/wastewater preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn construction software (PROCORE, E-Builder).
• CCM, PE, OSHA 10 or other certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review Contract Documents, project specs and drawings.
• Assist in RFIs and shop drawings review by Contractor.
• Prepare sketches and data for Design Engineer's use.
• Coordinate communication between Contractor, Design Engineer, Facility Managers, and Owner.
• Manage field inspections for contract compliance; perform QC on CM operations.
• Review Contractor schedules, pay estimates, and change orders.
• Use cloud-based software for project documentation (PROCORE, E-Builder, ACC).
• Interface with clients and perform client management activities.
