Job summary

Avantor is seeking a role in the Lab and Production Services group to perform customized lab work and support customers across multiple locations. You will work with operations specialists and production teams to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.

The role requires 3+ years in inventory/control/procurement, travel readiness, and strong communication. Overnight travel and a valid license are essential, with vaccination requirements at covered sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates/bachelor’s in business or science is a plus.
• 3+ years in inventory control, procurement, shipping/receiving, or inside sales.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and related collaboration tools.
• Overnight travel is required and a travel bonus is offered.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in GMP facilities and knowledge of ESS information systems are a plus.

Job description

The Opportunity

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor of Operation Specialist and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Hourly Rate: $27 - $31

Shift: Monday–Friday, 7 am – 4 pm or 8 am - 5 pm

Location: Must reside in the Greater Boston area and be responsible for traveling between multiple locations in New Jersey. Must also be able to travel outside of NE up to 5% of the time.

What we’re looking for

Education: High school diploma or GED is required; Associates degree or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/Inside Sales, etc., a plus

Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Suite Experience

Overnight travel is required; you will be able to receive an overnight travel bonus

Will be using your own vehicle and the ability to fly (If traveling further out)

Sites where coverage is provided require associates to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Previous experience working in a GMP facility is strongly desired

Strong communication skills

Knowledge of Information Access and System ESS

A valid driver's license is required to perform the essential functions of the job

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Traveling between multiple locations

Mileage reimbursement for miles driven to client locations

Having a CDL is a plus, not a requirement

Cross-referencing and inside sales experience are a plus

Forklift Certification is a plus

Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services is a plus

IATA, DOT, OSHA Right to Know, IMDG a plus

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform the job functions of Coordinators, Technicians, Material Handlers, Glass Washers when scheduled vacations, leave, and /or emergency situations occur.

Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel outside of the designated territory.

Coordinates and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.

Works closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks, along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.

Interfaces directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors, and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and materials.

Utilizes Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager, and/or other customer-specific applications.

Trains Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.

Provides SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, and invoice scrubbing).

Modifies and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.

Manages a budget related to expense reports.

Meets revenue, TOE, safety, performance, and quality goals and objectives

Creates programs for enhanced service efficiencies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency

The expected pre‑tax pay for this position is $47,000.00 - $75,900.00. Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
