Job summary

S&ME is seeking a Construction Materials Engineering Technician to support our Nashville-based team on the KY Locke project in Paducah, KY. You will perform field and lab testing on construction materials, collect samples, and interpret results under guidance from your mentors.

You’ll work outdoors, travel for project support, and advance through tiered technician roles based on experience and certifications such as ACI Field Testing Grade I.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred for advanced levels.
• Associate Technician/Technician I: 0-2 years relevant experience.
• Technician II: 2+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with associate degree.
• Technician III: 3+ years of relevant experience or equivalent with associate degree.
• Technician IV: 5+ years of relevant experience; leadership or mentoring experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Field and laboratory testing on construction materials like concrete, asphalt, soil, and aggregates.
• Sample collection and preparation for analysis.
• Interpreting test results and preparing detailed reports.
• Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to meet specs and safety guidelines.
