Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, installing, altering and repairing electrical systems and equipment. You may supervise a small crew of Helpers, Apprentices, or other J1s and gain exposure to low voltage, controls, process work and fire alarm across divisions.

Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical construction, own required tools, and be able to work weekends or overtime.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience performing electrical construction in commercial and/or industrial environments.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
  • Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, branch circuit and feeder conductors.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
  • Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
  • Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
  • Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
