Job summary

Amteck requires a Journeyman Electrician 1 to work under a Foreman or Superintendent, potentially overseeing a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices. The role offers opportunities to learn across divisions such as low voltage, controls, process work, and fire alarm within the electrical trade.

The candidate should have 5-7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings, bring required tools, and be capable of working weekends and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical construction in commercial/industrial environments.
• Ability to read project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Capability to lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices.

Responsibilities

• Work independently to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, brand circuit and feeder conductors.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Correctly determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
