Job summary

Amteck is seeking a Journeyman Electrician 1 (J1) to install, alter and repair electrical systems under a Foreman or Superintendent. The role may oversee a small crew of Helpers or Apprentices and offer learning opportunities across divisions such as low voltage, controls and fire alarm.

The candidate should have 5–7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial or industrial environments, possess the required tools, work safely, and be willing to train on the job, including weekends

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial environments.
• Own tools per company policy and able to use them to perform tasks.
• Demonstrate Amteck Way in daily work activities, behavior, and decision making.
• Able to work project schedules including weekends and overtime.
• Willingness to learn job-related material on the job.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, threaders and hand or mechanical benders.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panel boards, branch circuits and feeders.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of circuiting.
• Read and understand project specifications, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas of work from electrical drawings and project documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
• Lead and mentor Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
