Job summary

PennDOT is seeking a Workstation Specialist to install, support, and troubleshoot PC hardware, software, and peripherals across District 5 offices, field sites, and remote stockpiles in six counties.

You will provide Tier 2 hardware and software support, configure systems via Active Directory, manage imaging, VPN, and cable deployments, document procedures, and travel as needed. This role requires strong communication and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Ability to travel across PA for trainings or meetings.
• 2+ years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting PC hardware/software in an enterprise LAN/WAN.
• 2+ years installing and supporting laptops/docking stations.
• 2+ years installing and supporting multifunction print devices.
• 2+ years experience with Remedy or a similar ticketing system.
• 2+ years experience with premise cabling (Cat5e/6).
• Strong attention to detail and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure PC hardware, software, and peripherals per procedures.
• Provide Tier 2 hardware/software support for field and district offices.
• Install and troubleshoot VPN, imaging, and network cabling; manage end‑to‑end deployments.
• Maintain inventory and create/update Remedy tickets.
• Document processes and support garage/field diagnostics and mobile devices.
