Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a technical support professional to install, troubleshoot, and repair basic PC hardware and software. You will assist end users, document actions, and escalate complex issues to the next level while collaborating with the IT team.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 0–2 years of technical support experience; strong communication skills and knowledge of PCs and peripherals are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; technical or trade school training a plus.
• 0–2 years of technical support experience preferred.
• Must have strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening) and be able to explain technical issues clearly.
• Knowledge of assigned hardware and/or software products required.
• Working knowledge of personal computers and peripherals.
• Keeps up to date technically and applies new knowledge to the job.
• Ability to learn how systems should work and how changes may affect outcomes.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Installs, changes, and repairs basic hardware and software problems.
• Provides technical assistance to system users and responds to inquiries.
• Maintains records of transactions and escalates unresolved issues.
• Performs routine diagnostics to identify problems and recommend solutions.
• Sets up equipment for employee use and ensures proper installation of cables and software.
• Routes major hardware/software problems to vendors or next tier.
• Collaborates with team members to resolve IT issues and improve processes.
