Job summary

RTI International is seeking part-time Field Interviewers to work on the NSDUH, a government-sponsored study conducted since 1971 in the United States. Field interviewers contact households, conduct interviews, and communicate the importance of participation in the NSDUH study.

The role requires self-motivation, an outgoing personality, and a flexible schedule with evenings and weekends. Training and travel are part of the job, with equipment provided by RTI and adherence to data privacy

Qualifications

• Must possess High School Diploma or GED.
• Effective communication through speech and listening.
• Fluency in English through reading, writing, and speaking.
• Available for entire training and data collection period.
• Must have a valid US driver's license and a reliable personal automobile for business use.
• Comfortable using RTI issued tablet and other associated equipment.
• Access to password-protected Wi‑Fi for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities.
• Able to keep project information confidential.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and after dark.
• Variable work schedule as dictated by quarterly schedule, size and location of assignments.

Responsibilities

• Travel frequently to locations to recruit study participants.
• Make in-person contact with respondents to discuss the study and obtain participation.
• Approach households without a prior appointment.
• Adhere to a schedule set by Field Supervisor for contact times.
• Administer computer-assisted interviews and collect confidential information.
• Submit Time & Expense reports timely and accurately.
• Attend virtual meetings with project team and field supervisor.
• Participate in field observations conducted by client or RTI staff.
• Maintain system updates on project equipment and complete administrative tasks.
• Work and drive after dark.
