Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking Field Interviewers to support MEPS, a long-term study of health care costs and usage in the United States.

Interviewers will conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in sampled households, scheduling visits, collecting data, and handling signed documents. The role requires travel to training in January 2027 and potential local or overnight travel throughout the year.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older and able to enter binding confidentiality agreements to protect project information.
• Complete mandatory web-based home study training between January 4 and January 15, 2027, including required Microsoft Teams video sessions.
• Be available to travel to and attend mandatory in-person training (January 19–25, 2027).
• Complete post-training home study between January 26–31, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Contact households in-person or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Conduct in-person interviews and collect data, submitting documents as required.
• Transmit electronic data daily on days worked and follow data security procedures.
• Travel to local and occasional overnight assignments as needed.
