Job summary

Westat is hiring Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) in the United States. Field Interviewers conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults in households, travel for training and interviews, and submit documents securely.

Flexible, part-time hours with two data collection periods annually. Training is mandatory in January 2027, with potential overnight travel and the need to work evenings or weekends as caseloads require.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older with ability to sign confidentiality agreements.
• Complete mandatory web-based home study training between Jan 4 and Jan 15, 2027.
• Travel to and attend mandatory in-person training starting Jan 19–25, 2027.
• Complete additional training after in-person session, including post-training home study.

Responsibilities

• Contact households in-person and by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete interviews, and collect signed documents (electronic and hard copy).
• Transmit electronic data daily on work days and follow data security requirements.
