Job summary

Westat is seeking Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), a national study of health care costs and usage, sponsored by AHRQ. The role involves in-person and computer-assisted interviews with households, traveling to training, and data collection over two calendar years.

Field Interviewers report to a field supervisor, work part-time with two data collection periods each year, and must be able to travel to local and occasional long-distance households, including

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and able to sign confidentiality agreements.
• Must complete mandatory web-based training Jan 2027 before in-person training.
• Must travel to in-person training Jan 19–25, 2027.
• Must complete post-training home study Jan 26–31, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with households.
• Contact households by phone or in person to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete interviews, and collect documents.
• Transmit data daily and complete required administrative paperwork.
