Job summary

Westat is seeking motivated Field Interviewers to support the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), a national study on health care costs and usage. The role involves in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adults in households, using a Westat-provided laptop.

Travel to mandatory in-person training in January 2027 is required, with potential overnight travel for some assignments. This is a part-time, variable-hour position with data transmission daily and strict confidentiality

Qualifications

• Residency in project-designated areas with ability to travel as required.
• Available for mandatory web-based and in-person training windows in January 2027.
• Willing to travel to local and occasional long-distance households as needed.
• Able to work part-time, with at least 20 hours per week when work is available, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Contact households in-person or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Schedule appointments, conduct interviews, and collect and follow up with signed documents.
• Transmit electronic data daily and comply with data security and confidentiality requirements.
