Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS), conducting in-person interviews with adults in households across the United States.

The role involves travel to training in January 2027, local and occasional long-distance travel, and data collection across two data collection rounds each year. The position is part-time and non-exempt, with daily data transmission on workdays, and may include overtime and limited benefits.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older (or emancipated minor).
• Available for mandatory training window (Jan 4–15, 2027) and in-person training (Jan 19–25, 2027).
• Be able to travel to and attend required training and travel to households as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with adult household members.
• Contact households in-person and by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete interviews, and collect electronic and hard-copy documents.
• Transmit electronic data daily when on days worked.
• Complete administrative paperwork under field supervision.
