Job summary

Westat is seeking Field Interviewers for the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS). This part-time, year-round role involves contacting households, conducting in-person and computer-assisted interviews, and collecting signed documents.

Candidates must be 18+, able to travel to training in January 2027, and commit to 20 hours per week during data collection periods. The position includes some evenings and weekends, daily data transmission, and compliance with data security.

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older and able to enter confidentiality agreements.
• Complete mandatory web-based home study training between January 4 and January 15, 2027.
• Travel to and attend mandatory in-person training (Jan 19–25, 2027).
• Complete post-training home study between January 26 and January 31, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews.
• Contact households in-person or by phone to introduce the study and gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete the interview, and collect documents.
• Transmit electronic data daily and comply with data security requirements.
• Report to field supervisor and complete administrative paperwork.
