Job summary

An established surveying company is seeking an Instrument Technician to support various projects requiring travel. The role involves setup and operation of surveying equipment, ensuring accurate data collection, and assisting in maintaining field equipment. Candidates should have a High School Diploma and preferable experience with Trimble GPS equipment. The position is full-time with standard working hours Monday through Saturday.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Land surveying experience is a plus.
• Ability to read instructions and specifications for accurate survey data.
• Capable of clearing topography when necessary.
• Fieldwork for extended periods, possibly in adverse weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate total stations and gather survey data accurately.
• Load and manage files into a data collector for survey work.
• Set up field survey equipment for OPUS control points.
• Conduct closed-loop traverses, reduce data, and execute trigonometric leveling.
• Execute map checks and determine errors of closure.
