Job summary

Thompson Engineering has a full-time opportunity for a Survey Instrument Technician. The role supports the Surveyor Party Chief in collecting survey data using designated equipment and requires travel to support project needs.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of surveying experience in commercial/heavy industrial settings and valid Driver's License and TWIC card. Responsibilities include operating Topcon instruments, loading/unloading gear, and abiding by safety policies while attending monthly

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum five years' verifiable surveying experience in commercial/heavy industrial stakeout.
• Must be able to read and interpret measurements and perform basic trig/geometry.
• Must have valid Driver's License and TWIC card.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Operates total station, digital/automatic level, Topcon data collector, and TDS software.
• Collects field data and reports to Surveyor Party Chief.
• Loads/unloads survey equipment from company vehicle.
• Travel and stay overnight as workload requires.
• Adheres to Thompson Holdings HSE policies and attends safety meetings.
• Maintains punctual attendance and reliability.
