Thompson Engineering in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Survey Instrument Technician to support the Surveyor Party Chief. You will collect survey data using designated equipment and be willing to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

Requires five years verifiable surveying experience in commercial/heavy industrial construction stakeout.
Must read and comprehend measurements and perform intermediate trig/coordinate geometry.
Must have valid Driver’s License and TWIC card.
Willingness to travel and stay overnight as workload dictates.

Responsibilities

Operate total station, digital/automatic level, Topcon data collector and TDS software.
Collect data for field notes and report to Surveyor Party Chief.
Assist in loading/unloading surveying equipment from company vehicle.
Travel and stay overnight as project needs dictate.
Adhere to safety policies and procedures and participate in safety meetings.
