Job summary

Energy Transfer in Texas seeks an instrument and electrical technician to provide technical support to construction, plant facilities, and field operations. This role repairs, installs, troubleshoots, and performs predictive and preventative maintenance on control systems, SCADA, PLCs/DCS, and related equipment at gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

You will read manuals, follow DOT/PSM requirements, participate in on-call rotations, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety policies.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with demonstrated safe driving record.
Ability to maintain motor controls, relay logic, RTU's, I&E end-devices.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Outlook and Word.
Experience using software to troubleshoot, design, or configure control solutions (In Touch Wonderware, FactoryTalk, RSLogix, DeltaV).
Extensive knowledge of DOT 192/193/195 as it relates to testing and documentation for plants, compressor stations, pipelines, and facilities.
Understanding of the National Electric Code and OSHA 1910 as it relates to electrical systems.

Responsibilities

Install, diagnose, and maintain SCADA systems, plant, pipeline, and compressor instrumentation.
Install, diagnose, and maintain pneumatic and intelligent instruments and distribution systems.
Read and interpret manuals, drawings, and schematics; maintain control and safety devices per regulatory requirements.
Test and document plant and compressor station control systems to required standards.
Participate in call-outs and on-call requirements.
Provide mentoring and oversight to less qualified employees.
