Job summary

Stantec is hiring a Construction Field Inspector in the Kentucky region to support the Water-US South group. The role focuses on on-site safety, field testing, and quality oversight of construction activities across multiple projects. Travel and weekend work are expected as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; secondary education in related field is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years’ related experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and good driving record are required.
• Pre-employment drug screen and client-specific background checks are required.
• Proficient with desktop office software and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel extensively within the region with overnight stays and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site safety representative and maintain a safe working environment.
• Liaise between engineer and contractor.
• Interact with Client and contractor representatives and the Stantec office team.
• Oversee testing and maintain required documentation per project documents.
• Operate testing equipment and monitor progress.
• Track construction progress, issues, and resolutions.
• Review daily construction issues and coordinate resolutions with design team.
• Monitor adherence to contract and design documents.
• Communicate discrepancies and deviations to the design team and Client.
• Conduct construction quality oversight of installed materials and equipment.
• Maintain detailed daily reports, test results, RFIs, submittals, and non-conformance reports.
• Attend daily/weekly/monthly project field meetings.
• Travel extensively in region with overnight stays and weekends.
