Job summary

CME Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Special Inspector to perform essential inspections and material testing on high-profile commercial projects in the Greater Syracuse, NY area.

Join a team focused on quality and safety on active construction sites, reading drawings and interpreting test results to ensure compliance. The role requires an HS Diploma or higher, with preferred degrees or ICC/ACI certifications.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• Degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related is ideal, although not mandatory.
• Must possess at least one ICC Certification for a Special Inspector category (reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, spray-applied fireproofing, steel & bolt or steel & weld) or ACI Grade 1 or EIT certificate.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, teammates, and clients, through clear communications and proactive progress reporting.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests and inspections for soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding & bolting, fireproofing & firestopping, geotechnical investigations, and more.
• Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results.
• Complete assignment accurately and in accordance with established standards.
• Record and report test results clearly and concisely.
• Communicate regularly with project managers.
• Complete field data records and associated reports daily.
• Prepare for and complete continuing education for certifications through ACI and ICC.
