Job summary

CME Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Special Inspector to perform tests and inspections on soils, concrete, asphalt, and related materials for high-profile commercial projects in the Greater Rochester, NY area.

The role emphasizes accurate data recording, interpretation of test results, and clear communication with project managers. Qualified candidates will have a HS Diploma and ideally a Civil Engineering/Geology-related degree, plus ICC/ACI certifications and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• Degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related is ideal, although necessary.
• Experience is preferred with ICC or ACI certifications would be beneficial.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests and inspections on soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding & bolting, and other construction materials.
• Read drawings and specifications and interpret test results.
• Record and report test results clearly and concisely.
• Communicate regularly with project managers and complete field data records daily.
• Prepare for and complete continuing education for ACI and ICC certifications.

Summary

Join our team as a Construction Special Inspector, providing essential inspections and material testing on high-profile commercial projects throughout the Greater Rochester, NY area. Help ensure compliance on some of the regions most exciting construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform tests and inspections for soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding & bolting, fireproofing & firestopping, geotechnical investigations, and more.
• Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results.
• Complete assignment accurately and in accordance with appropriate established standards.
• Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner.
• Communicate regularly with project managers.
• Complete field data records and associated reports daily.
• Prepare for and complete continuing education for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Code Council (ICC).

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required.
• Degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related is ideal, although necessary.
• Must possess at least one International Code Council (ICC) Certification for one of the following Special Inspector Categories: reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, spray applied fireproofing, steel & bolt or steel & weld, or American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate through a State Board.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, teammates, and clients, through clear communications and proactive progress reporting.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Compensation

$23 - 32 / hour
