Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to support transportation construction projects across multiple locations. The role involves performing inspections of traffic control, materials, and construction methods under supervision, while ensuring compliance with plans and QC procedures.

The position requires travel 20%–40% and a valid driver’s license. The ideal candidate has basic math skills, and proficiency with MS Office, and can read and interpret construction plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• 0 years experience; applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required depending on project demands.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review daily contractor reports and QC procedures for conformance with plans and procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to the contract; measure quantities of materials.
