Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to support highway construction projects across multiple locations. You will inspect traffic control, materials, and environmental controls, working under direct supervision to ensure quality and safety on site.

A valid driver's license is required, along with a High School diploma or equivalent. The role involves travel and hands-on field work on projects nationwide, with opportunities to learn and grow within a leading infrastructure firm.

Qualifications

• English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Basic arithmetic proficiency.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Review contractor reports and ensure conformance with Quality Control Plans and procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to contract; quantify materials placed.
• Possibly perform sampling and in-place testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt pavement.
