Job summary

Luster seeks Construction Inspectors in the Seattle, WA area to support large, complex heavy civil infrastructure programs across highways, bridges, transit, airports, and water facilities.

You will verify field work against plans, document daily activities, and coordinate testing and inspections with designers, contractors, and agencies. Strong communication and multi-disciplinary experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of construction inspection experience on large, complex projects.
• Experience inspecting civil/structural, mechanical/plumbing, or electrical work.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and materials testing.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Experience with field reporting software (Kahua, Unifier, e-Builder, etc.).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Inspect installed work for conformance with approved plans and specs.
• Document daily construction activity including labor, materials, and weather.
• Verify materials against submittals and data; reject nonconforming items.
• Coordinate field and lab testing; track results and corrective actions.
• Identify safety concerns and report design conflicts to the resident engineer.
• Record pay quantities and ensure payment matches installed work.
• Monitor survey layout checks and as-built documentation.
• Oversee site safety, traffic control, and work-zone compliance.
• Coordinate inspection coverage with contractors and third parties.
• Support punch list, testing, startup verification, and closeout.
