Job summary

National Association of Women in Construction is seeking Construction Inspectors at multiple experience levels in Washington state to support major transit capital programs, including light rail and bus corridors. Inspectors verify conformance to contract documents and codes, and produce daily field records used for payments and settlements.

We hire across civil, structural, building, electrical, mechanical, utility, roofing inspections, and safety representatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering technology, civil engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of construction inspection experience for large, complex infrastructure projects.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specs, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Ability to pass a background check and complete site safety orientation.
  • Experience with electronic field reporting and construction management software.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect construction activities for conformance with contract documents and codes.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports detailing labor, equipment, materials, weather, and work locations.
  • Identify nonconforming work and document it in daily reports.
  • Verify materials on delivery against submittals and delivery tickets.
  • Witness field sampling and document test results; track deficiencies to closure.
  • Measure pay quantities and support change review with photos and records.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure daily inspection coverage per staffing plan.
  • Support survey verification, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
