Job summary

WSP is seeking a motivated Construction Inspector for our Seattle, WA office to join our growing Construction Management team. On-site inspection for transportation, municipal, utility, and infrastructure projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

You will monitor construction activities, document progress, verify conformance with plans and specs, and help deliver safe, on-time, on-budget projects. Requires 9 years of field inspection, strong writing, and travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 9 years of construction inspection experience on public works or heavy civil projects.
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection of contractor work to verify compliance with plans and permits.
• Prepare detailed daily inspection reports documenting workforce, equipment, and activities.
• Verify completed quantities and support contractor payments.
• Monitor traffic control and public safety measures on projects.
• Coordinate field testing and material acceptance activities.
• Review material certifications and test results.
• Maintain project records, photos, and as-built documentation.
• Identify construction issues and non-conforming work.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Support change orders and field issue resolution.
• Promote safety and compliance culture on all projects.
