Job summary

AmSpec is seeking an entry-level trainee inspector to eventually perform basic field inspection and sampling work, handle necessary paperwork, and ensure proper distribution of samples while maintaining timely communication with office staff.

The role requires completing safety and orientation training, shadowing a senior inspector, and following API/IFIA procedures plus company policies. The position involves field work, report preparation, and potential travel.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or related experience in the industry.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Familiarity with basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets).
• Must have unrestricted use of a vehicle with valid license for job transport.

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and orientation training for access to customer facilities.
• Shadow a senior inspector and learn basic inspection and sampling requirements.
• Perform basic inspection and sampling work in the field per industry and customer requirements.
• Prepare and distribute field reports to vessels, terminals, and the office.
