Job summary

AmSpec Group in Minot, ND is seeking an entry-level trainee inspector who will learn to perform basic field inspection and sampling, complete paperwork, and ensure samples are correctly distributed with timely office communication.

You will shadow a senior inspector, follow API and IFIA procedures, and prepare field reports for vessels, terminals, and the office. This role requires willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions and to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or related experience in the industry.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle in good condition.
• Must be ready to accept job assignments 24/7 and willing to work shifts.
• Must be able to work in refineries, terminals, and on-board vessels.
• TWIC Card may be required to access terminals and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and orientation training to access customer facilities.
• Shadow a senior inspector on jobs and learn basic inspection and sampling requirements.
• Follow API and IFIA procedures and company policies.
• Perform basic inspection and sampling work in the field according to requirements.
• Prepare and distribute field reports to vessels, terminals, and the office.
• Transport samples properly and ensure timely communication of changes to the plan.
• Attend monthly safety meetings.
