Job summary

AmSpec Group in Gonzales, LA seeks an entry-level trainee inspector to learn basic field inspection and sampling, complete paperwork, and ensure proper sample distribution with timely office communication.

You will shadow senior inspectors, follow API/IFIA procedures, and perform field tasks including measuring temperatures, sampling, and data entry, with required safety training and potential travel.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent with industry-related experience.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Must have unrestricted vehicle use, valid license, and ability to travel.
• Willingness to work standby, shifts, and overtime as needed.
• Able to work in refineries, terminals, and on-board vessels.

Responsibilities

• Complete safety and orientation training to access customer facilities.
• Shadow senior inspector to learn basic inspection and sampling requirements.
• Follow API and IFIA procedures as well as company policies.
• Perform basic field inspection and sampling tasks including temperature measurement and sampling.
• Prepare and distribute field reports to vessels, terminals, and office.
• Identify and transport samples timely and correctly.
• Other similar tasks as assigned by supervisor.
