Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to support our systems integration and engineering services team. This field-based role focuses on installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, electrical, control, and communications systems within upstream and midstream oil and gas environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of instrumentation and electrical experience within industrial oil and gas environments.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience installing, calibrating, maintaining, and troubleshooting process instrumentation.
• Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50% as required by project and customer needs.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving and insurance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Install electrical power, control, measurement, instrumentation, communications, and safety systems for upstream and midstream oil and gas operations.
• Install conduit and MC-HL cable per NEC and project specs.
• Configure, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot field instrumentation and control systems.
• Troubleshoot relays, VFDs, wireless and hard-wired instrumentation, controllers, and related equipment.
• Install and troubleshoot PLCs, RTUs, and EFMs.
• Support field activities and provide guidance to apprentice-level crew members.
