Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HSE/Safety or 1-3 years in heavy civil construction.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to travel overnight or long distances on occasion.
• Excellent communication (verbal/written) and time management skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and DOT regulations preferred.
• Must be detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead site safety observations and inspections.
• Assist Operations with pre-planning safety through risk assessments and job hazard analyses.
• Prepare and provide training documentation for OSHA, MSHA, and DOT compliance.
• Develop site-specific safety training materials and toolbox talks.
• Conduct incident investigations and safety training sessions.
• Oversee subcontractor safety compliance and performance.
• Manage OSHA and MSHA inspections and related training.
• Conduct new hire safety orientation and post-accident drug screens.
• Support project teams with safety expertise and site planning.
