Job summary

TotalEnergies is seeking an experienced HSE Lead for on-site management of health, safety, and environmental activities during wind project construction. The role requires field presence, strong contractor governance, and regulatory compliance to protect personnel and assets.

You will lead HSE programs, review plans, and drive proactive safety culture in collaboration with EPCs and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to MAESTRO and applicable standards across all activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in safety, engineering, or environmental science.
• Minimum 5+ years of HSE experience on construction projects, preferably wind energy.
• Proven HSE leadership supporting wind energy construction with EPCs and subcontractors.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and U.S. construction safety standards.
• Experience overseeing EPC and subcontractor Safety Management Systems.
• Hands-on experience with working-at-heights programs and fall protection.
• OSHA 30 (Construction) certification required; wind-specific safety training preferred.
• Professional HSE certifications such as CSP, ASP, or CHST strongly preferred.
• Ability to work full-time on an active construction site in outdoor field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all HSE activities for wind project construction (turbine erection, heavy lifts, crane ops, electrical work, BOP).
• Ensure contractor and subcontractor compliance with MAESTRO standards and HSE requirements.
• Review and approve HSE plans, JHAs, lift plans, and method statements.
• Conduct site audits, inspections, and field verifications; close corrective actions.
• Monitor KPIs and report to project leadership.
• Lead incident investigations and root-cause analyses; implement corrective actions.
• Support regulatory, OSHA, and environmental compliance throughout construction.
• Participate in HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety moments, drills.
• Promote a strong safety culture aligned with TotalEnergies’ values.
