Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to develop, implement, and monitor H&S programs for the O&M team across multiple sites. You will work with ENGIE Energy Solutions North America units to influence culture and ensure injury-free operations.

You will lead on-site training, incident investigations, and safety audits, reporting to the HSE & IPOS Director, with travel up to 75% domestically. A strong background in OSHA CFR 29 and RCFA is expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, Business or equivalent education where you gain knowledge and/or experience with leadership, management, communication, organizational, operational and prioritization skills.
  • Certified Safety Professional eligibility, and OSHA safety certifications preferred
  • A minimum seven (7) years’ Safety Management, with 3 of those years experience in thermal power generation and energy distribution
  • Subject matter expert in OSHA (US) CFR 29 Parts 1910 / 1926
  • Experience with root cause failure analysis tools and their application for recordable events

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Health and Safety programs for the O&M team, partnering with other Business Entities and Operating Companies’ and H&S staff to influence an organizational culture that leads to an injury free working environment.
  • You will report to the HSE & IPOS Director and assist in development and implementation of a Health and Safety (H&S) Management System that encompasses standards of excellence, programs, policies, procedures and processes for ENGIE Energy Solutions (ES) North America.
  • Conduct regular onsite training, supervision, compliance audits, incident investigations, and safety cultural assessments
  • You know how to lead serious incident investigations into HiPo incidents, including those that result in a lost time accident
  • You have experience in applying Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) tools when conducting investigations to determine causal factors
