Job summary

Republic Services, Inc. seeks a Hazardous Waste Technician to assist in the collection, identification and proper packaging and lab packing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at client sites, with spill response on site.

The role requires 40-hour HAZWOPER training, forklift operation, and strict adherence to regulatory standards, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training.
• Experience operating light and heavy equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make waste pickups throughout a customer’s facility.
• Conduct chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Package and label waste products to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Participate in spill response on customer’s site as needed.
• Operate forklifts.
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Complete waste stream sampling and profiling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
