Job summary

Republic Services in the United States is seeking a site-based Hazardous Waste Technician who assists in collecting, identifying and packaging waste, supports lab packing, and performs spill response at client locations.

Qualifications

• Must pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Ability to operate heavy and light equipment including forklift.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Making waste pickups throughout a customer’s facility.
• Conducting chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Packaging and labeling waste products to maximize efficiency and compliance.
• Participating in spill response on customer’s site as needed.
• Operating forklifts.
• Inspecting drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensuring safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Completing waste stream sampling and profiling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
