Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a site-based Waste Handling Technician to assist with collection, packaging and labelling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at client locations. You will also participate in spill response and ensure safe loading/unloading of waste hauling vehicles.

Responsibilities include forklift operation, waste pickups within facilities, chemical bulking and consolidations, and conducting waste stream sampling and profiling, with a strong emphasis on compliance and safety.

Qualifications

• Must pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• Ability to use heavy and light equipment including forklift.
• Prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Making waste pickups throughout a customer's facility.
• Conducting chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Packaging and labeling waste products to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Participating in spill response on customer's site as needed.
• Operating forklifts.
• Inspecting drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensuring the safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Completing waste stream sampling and profiling.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
