Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Services Field Technician I to join our team. You will perform basic emergency response and spill cleanup activities under close supervision, using standard procedures to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include tank cleaning, decontamination, equipment setup (pumps, generators, air compressors, light towers), and supporting daily site housekeeping while adhering to safety policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience with hazardous and non-hazardous spill cleanup.
• Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER training upon hire.
• Able to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical and safety documents.
• Knowledge of chemicals and safety data sheets to mitigate hazards.
• Willingness to provide input on working practices to meet departmental goals.
• Adheres to Company safety policies and rules.

Responsibilities

• Performs tank cleaning, oil spill cleanup, drum handling, decontamination, and other remedial activities.
• Responds to customer spills and emergencies during and after hours.
• Maintains general housekeeping and equipment/work site.
• Follows safety policies and regulations in all duties.
• Sets up and uses equipment (pumps, generators, air compressors, light towers, pallet-jack, skid steer).
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
