Job summary

Republic Services in Alaska is seeking a hazardous waste technician to assist in collection, packaging and labeling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at client sites and to participate in spill response as needed. You will operate forklifts, inspect drums for regulatory compliance, perform waste stream sampling and profiling, and help ensure safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.

The role involves administrative duties on-site and requires attention to detail and strong safety

Qualifications

• Must pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire.
• A valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.

Responsibilities

• Make waste pickups at a customer's facility.
• Conduct chemical bulking and consolidation.
• Package and label waste products to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance.
• Participate in spill response on customer site as needed.
• Operate forklifts and inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles.
• Complete waste stream sampling and profiling.
