Davey Resource Group, Inc. is seeking an entry-level UAM Groundhand 1 to support telecommunications aerial line crews in central Michigan. Travel is extensive, with accommodations and per diem provided, and duties include assisting with pole work, fiber installations, and site preparation.

This on-site role emphasizes safety and teamwork. The successful candidate will follow directions, work in all weather conditions, and pass safety training.

Qualifications

• Clear and effective communication in one-on-one or group settings.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining safety.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR; must pass DOT driving certifications if 21+.

Responsibilities

• Pass tools and provide ground-level support to the crew.
• Handle cables, conduits, tools and materials as directed.
• Assist in installing telecommunication fixtures.
• Assist line crew with setting/removing poles and backfilling holes.
• Clear undergrowth and debris to maintain clear right-of-way paths.
• Keep job sites clean and organized; assist with zone setup and breakdown.
• Assist crew with moving tools and heavy materials as needed.
• Interact professionally with landowners to explain activities.
• Flag traffic if certified to protect workers and public.
