Job summary

Summit Drilling in Easton, PA is seeking a Geophysicist to support drilling services by locating utilities and clearing boring/well locations, plus in-depth geophysical investigations including seismic, electrical resistivity, and borehole geophysics.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, capable of working independently or in a team, and willing to travel daily across PA, NJ, NY, MD, and DE with occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field OR 2+ years of utility locating experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn Surfer, Uinta, Pix4D.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety programs and policies; participate in daily safety briefings.
• Conduct daily checks and maintenance of geophysical equipment and vehicles.
• Utilize geophysical survey results to assist with planning drilling and remediation activities.
• Relay site survey results to the Project Manager.
• Note utility or health and safety concerns to crews before intrusive work.
• Maintain logs and reports of survey results and data acquisition.
