Job summary

Verdantas is seeking a Geology/Geotechnical professional to support field review and geotechnical explorations. You will oversee drilling crews, observe soil and groundwater conditions, and translate field observations into subsurface data for analyses. Role includes frequent travel and 90% site work across PA/NJ/DE.

You will collaborate with geotechnical and civil engineers and design teams to deliver safe, high‑quality project execution. Strong field and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering or Environmental Science.
• 1–3+ years of geotechnical logging or field work.
• HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Certified PennDOT Drilling Inspector a plus.
• Experience with BoreDM, gINT, ArcGIS Field Maps and Survey123.

Responsibilities

• Oversee drilling and sampling on site including logging of geotechnical borings and test pits.
• Maintain field documentation with depths, locations, and observed conditions.
• Describe lithology and collect soil/rock samples and document groundwater.
• Perform infiltration testing per state BMP guidelines.
• Communicate field progress and results to engineers and project managers.
• Develop and implement Health and Safety Plans for field operations.
• Coordinate site investigations and drilling programs; travel to project sites.
• Operate company vehicles and support field teams.
