Job summary

Sudden Service, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and service diesel and gas engines, generators, and related power systems at customer sites. You will travel to locations, install and test equipment, and ensure systems run reliably.

Responsibilities include planning service visits with the manager, keeping thorough records, and training junior technicians. A valid license and own tools are required; a strong customer-service approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with diesel and/or gas engines and servicing/repairing.
• Electrical experience and ability to read wiring diagrams (AC/DC).
• Experience with power generation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan work and travel with Service Manager, prioritizing customer needs.
• Diagnose malfunctions, repair/replace parts, install new assemblies.
• Provide tools/parts and arrange facilities to perform repair work on customer premises.
• Inspect and test machines on delivery, inspections, and after repair.
• Complete work orders and related paperwork promptly.
• Train new servicemen or supervise a team on large repair jobs.
• Maintain neat service truck and professional appearance.
