Job summary

ArborMetrics is seeking a Work Planner/Consulting Forester to lead field operations, inspect vegetation work, and document data using tablets and forestry software. The role emphasizes safety, independent work, and strong customer communication.

Ideal candidates will have GIS experience, knowledge of vegetation management practices, and the ability to work in varying weather and rugged sites. Training and certifications are provided as part of ongoing development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of tree species identification, hazard tree assessment, invasive species management.
• Ability to hike ROWs and drive long hours.
• Knowledgeable about Utility Vegetation Management practices.
• Experience with GIS software/technology as well as Microsoft Suite and an iPhone.
• Must be able to work alone outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions.
• Follow AMS safety standards, including safe driving and wildfire prevention.
• Promote AMS values in daily actions and encourage others to do the same.
• Safely drive to work sites and hike rights-of-way (up to 10 miles/day).
• Inspect and document vegetation work at customer properties.
• Record vegetation data using tablets and specialized software.
• Use forestry computer systems for data entry and tracking.
• Address customer concerns and complaints promptly.
• Communicate effectively with leadership, auditors, clients, contractors, landowners, and the public.
• Participate in storm and emergency response duties and other assigned tasks.
