Job summary

Moss is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to ensure construction equipment is in peak, job-ready condition and to perform preventative maintenance and on-demand repairs. The role requires travel to multiple sites and coordination with the Equipment Manager to troubleshoot issues and minimize downtime.

The candidate should have an associate degree in heavy equipment, 5+ years in construction, and strong diagnostic skills across hydraulic, braking, electrical, and diesel systems.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in heavy equipment program.
  • Minimum 5 years construction industry experience.
  • Maintain DOT physical; CDL preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to work on hydraulic and air braking systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Basic understanding and diagnostic ability of diesel engines.
  • Certifications or training in Safety; Brakes; Engine; Transmissions; Troubleshooting; Suspension.
  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Willingness to travel to job sites (FL, GA and/or AR).

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular routine preventative maintenance on construction equipment.
  • Respond to service call requests and perform repairs or maintenance as scheduled.
  • Communicate and troubleshoot service issues with the Equipment Manager and vendors.
  • Ensure work orders are completed and equipment is safe and jobsite ready.
  • Must have welding and burning ability.
  • Complete electronic work orders and log daily activities.
  • Work safely per Moss Safety Guidelines and Policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
