Job summary

Moss, a national construction firm, seeks a Fleet Equipment Mechanic to keep equipment and vehicles in job-ready condition across multiple sites. You will troubleshoot with diagnostic tools, perform preventative maintenance, and handle on-site repairs as scheduled by the Solar Equipment Coordinator / Fleet Equipment Manager.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of an Associate Degree in Heavy Equipment, 5+ years in construction, and welding/burning skills.

Qualifications

  • Requires Associate Degree in Heavy Equipment and 5+ years in construction.
  • CDL preferred but not required; willingness to travel.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems.
  • Welding and burning ability is required.
  • Proficient with basic computer tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to travel to FL, GA and/or AR with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular routine preventative maintenance on construction equipment.
  • Respond to service calls and perform repairs as scheduled with the Equipment Manager.
  • Troubleshoot service issues with Equipment Coordinator and vendors.
  • Complete work orders and ensure equipment is safe and jobsite ready.
  • Weld and burn as needed; maintain safety compliance.
  • Complete electronic work orders daily and work safely per Moss guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate Degree in Heavy Equipment Program
CDL Preferred but not required
Electrical troubleshooting
Hydraulic and air brake systems
Diesel engines troubleshooting
Welding and burning ability
Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
