Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking technicians to perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, and installation of life safety product lines. You will work with low voltage wiring and document compliance using laptops and paper records.

Responsibilities include maintaining an inspection schedule, performing minor repairs and programming changes under supervision, and completing inspections on time. Travel may be required, with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

Journeyman’s pipe fitter license is required.
Able to obtain and retain licenses as required by codes.
Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specs, and manuals.
Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.
Troubleshooting and repair of systems.
Physical labor up to 50-70 lbs.
Able to work in ladders, scaffolding, ducts and crawl spaces.
Willing to travel and work flexible hours including nights and weekends.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Pass pre-employment background and drug test.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventative maintenance of life safety product lines.
Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices.
Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via laptops or paper.
Maintain structured inspection schedule and archive documentation.
Make minor repairs and programming changes under supervision.
Complete assigned inspections on time.
Perform other duties as assigned.
