Job summary

Encore Fire Protection, the east coast's largest full-service fire protection company, seeks a Fire Alarm Service Technician. You will inspect, test, program, service, and troubleshoot a wide range of fire alarm systems at customer sites, with autonomy and real-world problem solving.

This field-based role requires travel within your territory, strong NFPA 72 knowledge, and the ability to communicate clearly with customers and teams. Competitive pay and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical experience preferred.
• Valid electrical license per state requirements.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within territory.
• Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA and fire alarm theory.
• Hands-on experience with major fire alarm manufacturers.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication with customers, contractors and teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple service assignments.

Responsibilities

• Service, program, test, inspect, and troubleshoot fire alarm systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and corrective repairs per NFPA 72 and standards.
• Identify code deficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Respond to emergency calls including nights, weekends, and on-call.
• Collaborate with contractors, building personnel, and internal teams for timely service.
• Document service activities accurately including findings and parts used.
• Maintain clear communication with customers and staff regarding status and next steps.
• Uphold Encore’s safety, quality, and customer satisfaction on every site.
