Job summary

Uniti’s Kinetic unit is seeking a Splicer on the construction team to splice fiber optic and copper cables in outdoor and indoor settings. You will read, create, and maintain splicing schematics, manage OSP activities, and help ensure project timelines and crew safety on-site.

You must be able to lift 75 lb, work in all weather, and travel up to 50%. DOT pre-hire certification and CDL after hire are required. Overtime including weekends is common in this safety-sensitive role.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions, year-round.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• On-call schedule rotation including weekends/holidays/overtime.
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL post-hire possible.
• DOT certification pre-hire required.

Responsibilities

• Splice cables using hand tools, epoxy, or mechanical equipment.
• Splice fiber optic and copper cables; construct splice cases and maintain records.
• Interpret staking sheets and blueprints; ensure compliance with safety procedures.
• Maintain splicing records, schematics, and diagrams; manage field notes.
• Travel to assigned work sites; support project timelines and site safety.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspect lines, and document test results.
• Support engineering, permit, and construction processes as needed.
