Job summary

Uniti Group Inc. is seeking a Construction Tech - Splicer to splice fiber optic and copper cables both outdoors and indoors, and to maintain splicing records and schematics.

The role involves outdoor/indoor work, weekend and on-call shifts, and significant travel depending on project needs. Applicants should have 1 year of splicing experience or a related trade-school certification, be able to lift up to 75 pounds, and work safely in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 1 year of copper and/or fiber cable splicing experience or related Trade School certification in-lieu of one year of experience.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions year-round.
• Ability to travel and work on-call schedule including overtime.

Responsibilities

• Splice cables using hand tools, epoxy, or mechanical equipment.
• Read and follow staking sheets and blueprints.
• Work in accordance with industry standards and safety procedures.
• Prepare engineering field notes and interpret buried facilities from records and maps.
• Participate in permit and construction processes to support contracts.
• Measure signal strength with electronic test equipment.
• Inspect lines or cables and document test results.
